Voodoo Sound Club feat. Roy Paci
_Elettra
on stage_
Live concert at the Bravo Caffè, Italy - February 2012
VSC’s music, with its explosive mix of jazz, funky, afrobeat and psychedelic music, or we’d better saying Voodoo Jazz, brings jazz back to all the black music expressions which made entire generations dance: funk, beat, rock up to the African original matrix. The musical range, basically made of original tracks but also by peculiar cover songs taken from the musical ranges of artists like Manu Dibango, Fela Kuti and Jimi Hendrix, is entirely dedicated to energy and to the dance itself, but it definitely can please ears of the finest and more careful listeners. The band leader’s saxofono’s torrential improvisations together with their hypnotic repetitiveness of rhythmic progressions, explode in a more ritual and ancestral dimension which involves the public intellectually, physically and emotionally.
Guglielmo Pagnozzi: sax, voice, keyboards
Reda Zine: voice, electric guitar
Lazzaro Piccolo: electric guitar
Salvatore Lauriola aka Messico: electric bass
Danilo Mineo: percussions
Gaetano Alfonsi: drums
feat. Roy Paci: trumpet, flugelhorn
